During the period from the 2nd till the 7th of December 2013 in the capital of Azerbaijan , Baku , eighth meeting of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage was held.

It was confirmed that the multinational candidatures of Spain, Cyprus, Greece , Italy, Morocco , Portugal and the Croatian titled : The Mediterranean diet, inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage .

By entering the Mediterranean diet on the world’s list of intangible cultural heritage Croatia has added another intangible cultural property to its list , and now , with over 130 intangible cultural assets registered in the Register of Cultural Goods the Republic of Croatian ,has 13 sites entered on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and one intangible cultural property on the List of endangered intangible Cultural heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding .

The Republic of Croatia is at the top in the number of enrolled intangible cultural heritage in the mentioned UNESCO lists . With this entry ,Croatia became the second in Europe and fifth in the world in the number of registered elements on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage .

The inclusion of Mediterranean diet in cultural heritage on the Representative List is certainly a confirmation of its value and importance , not only as a nations but as a part of world heritage.
